Self-Employment Tax Estimator (T2125)
Estimate your net self-employment income, federal and provincial tax, and CPP using a simple T2125-style breakdown.
Estimate your self-employment tax
Federal rates and brackets — pre-filled with 2025 CRA figures. Edit any of them.
CPP assumptions — pre-filled with 2025 CRA figures.
How this is estimated: revenue minus expenses gives net self-employment income (the figure that flows from your T2125 to line 13500 of your T1); federal tax is calculated bracket by bracket and reduced by the basic personal amount credit, the province is approximated with a single flat rate, and CPP is 11.9% of contributory earnings up to the YMPE plus 8% between the YMPE and the YAMPE. All defaults are 2025 figures — confirm the current year on canada.ca. This ignores provincial tax brackets and credits, the CPP deduction split, GST/HST (which you collect for the CRA, not a tax on you), EI and other credits.
