GST/HST rates vary by province — from 5% GST to 15% HST. Confirm the rate that applies to your supplies on canada.ca before you charge it.

Description Qty Rate (CAD) Amount Actions

How this is estimated: the subtotal is the sum of quantity × rate for each line, GST/HST is applied to the subtotal at the rate you enter, and the total is the subtotal plus tax. It is a drafting aid only, not tax advice — confirm the required fields and your rate on canada.ca.

Required fields: show your business name (or trading name) and address, the invoice date, and the total amount. If you charge GST/HST, also show your GST/HST registration number — your nine-digit Business Number (BN) plus the RT0001 program account, for example 123456789RT0001 — the rate applied, and the tax amount as a separate line or a clear statement that the total includes it. Larger invoices should also name the client, state the terms of payment, and describe each supply. What is required depends on the invoice amount; confirm current rules on canada.ca.
